Certification and Memberships
New York Language Center is certified as an English Language School by the New York State Education Department. It is also authorized by the U.S. Department of Immigration to enroll non-immigrant foreign students. New York Language Center is a member of NAFSA (Association of International Educators), TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), and ALTO (Association of Language Travel Organisations) and FIYTO (Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations).
Testing
Before beginning a course at New York Language Center, you will take an oral and a written placement test to determine your level.
Certificate
Upon course completion, you will receive a certificate that you’ll be proud to present as evidence of your accomplishments. Upon completion of individual levels, you can also receive a letter of completion.

Teaching Materials
We have developed our own teaching materials with you, the student, in mind. At all beginner and intermediate levels we have authored our own textbooks and audio materials, New Beginnings.
English Courses in new York
Semi-Intensive: 3 hours per day (15 hours per week), five weeks per session, Monday thru Friday.
Schedules:
- 10:00 – 1:00 pm
- 2:30 – 5:30 pm
Intensive Language Program (ILP)
Open to all students, the ILP is our most popular program and was designed for those who have more time to devote to their English language education. Ideal for foreign students visiting from abroad, the ILP will quickly move you through your language course work. Our Intensive programs are any combination of courses offering 18 hours or more per week of class time.
In the Intensive Language Program (ILP), you will devote 20 hours per week to your language studies, and benefit from more practice time than you would get in a Part-Time Course. ILP classes are generally offered 8am – 12pm and 10am – 2:30pm daily, but there are also afternoon and evening programs.
Accommodation in New York
*Homestay option:
- Price includes: Single room in Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx, self-serve breakfast, bed linen, blankets.
**Residence (uptown Manhattan location):
- Price includes: Single bedroom, shared kitchen and bathroom, use of indoor pool and fitness center.
- Residences fill up fast! You will be booked into the best available residence in similar conditions in the case that the residence is full.
Accommodation is at students’ disposal from the Sunday before beginning of course until the Saturday morning following end of course.
Not included: Airfare, Airport transfers
