Our school location
San Diego is a beautiful, modern, clean city that attracts people from all over the world with its wonderful climate, sunny skies, beautiful beaches, islands and peninsulas. The climate is warm all year which means that you can practice almost any sport any time.
Embassy San Diego is located in a modern high-rise building right in the heart of downtown San Diego. It is just a short walk from Horton Plaza (one of the city’s main shopping districts), and the historic Gaslamp Quarter (the pride of downtown with museums, international restaurants, clubs, boutiques and theatres).
Embassy San Diego is also within easy reach of some of the city’s most prominent attractions such as Seaport Village,Sea World, the San Diego Marina and the trolley to Las Americas Outlet Shopping center.
Explore Balboa Park, which hosts a number of museums as well as the world-famous San Diego Zoo. Take a day cruise on the Pacific Ocean from the city’s impressive marina, or spend a day at the Wild Animal Park.
Other regional areas of interest include Los Angeles and Disneyland (only 2 hours away by car), Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and Joshua Tree National Park.

Course information and details
The Certificate of English is our most popular course; promising all-round improvement in every area of general English.
It’s available in every Embassy school worldwide. You can join on any Monday and following our entrance test, you’ll be placed into a class with other students at your level.
Study for as long or as short as you like, from two weeks upwards.
Classes can be in the morning and/or afternoon. Students can choose from our standard version of 20 lessons per week or an intensive version of 28 lessons per week. The intensive course includes 20 lessons on General English plus 8 electives of your choice.
Accommodation
Residence**
In San Diego, our primary student residence is the J Street Inn. Our own Residence Assistant is living on-site to oversee the services to students there.
Only a 15- minute walk from the school, J Street Inn is situated downtown with easy access to the attractive Gaslamp. Access to public transportation is simple, as the trolley station is only 1 block away.
Located only 2 blocks away is also Ralphs, a large food market. One block further is the famed Horton Plaza,a unique 7-story outdoor shopping mall with wonderful shops, boutiques, restaurants and movie theatres.
The general characteristics and facilities of this residence are: Work desk, closet, cabinets, phone, television, microwave, mini-fridge, full bath and linens.
There is also a Study Room, for use by Embassy students only; this is one of the wireless areas. The other wireless area is located in the lobby. If students rent a car underground parking is available at a weekly or monthly fee.
Homestay*
Live as part of an English-speaking household. You’ll have your own bedroom, and eat breakfast and evening meals with your hosts.
It’s a great chance to meet native Californians and share their way of life.
Living with English-speakers also means that you will never stop learning and improving your fluency. In San Diego , our Homestay households are all within 45 minutes’ travel by bus from the school.
