A Communicative Approach

Students will need to perfect their knowledge of Spanish grammar and a systematic study of the relevant language structures is a key part of the course.

However, this is combined with a communicative approach that involves a specific focus on the student’s ability to actually use the language.

Developing the capacity to communicate effectively in Spanish is at the heart of the OISE Tutorial approach.

The tutors pay special attention to the rhythm of speech, intonation, and word stress as well as essential elements of non-verbal communication such as body language and eye contact as students develop the confidence and fluency that is vital to their linguistic development.

Madrid is located at the heart of Spain.

We chose Madrid as the location for our intensive Spanish school because it is an overwhelmingly Spanish city.

It is also a major cultural and gastronomic capital as well being simply one of the most exciting cities in Europe.

Spanish courses in Madrid

Course information and details

Tutorial 20 and Tutorial 30:

Both courses provide a full intensive day of individual study.

Students can choose between 2o hours of classroom time or 30 hours and the timetabling can be flexible.

Aside form the classroom time the day begins with a morning press review over coffee bin which students are invited to give a brief summary of a news item.

There are programmed preparation periods throughout the day and 3 social/cultural activities per week in which students get to know Madrid in Spanish in the company of an expert tutor.

Accommodation

Accommodation is by default half board with a local Spanish host family.

College residential accommodation is available in July and August at a supplement of 280 euros per week.
