Information about our school location
In a land of great contrasts there is nowhere better to learn the language than in the southern region, called Andalucía, in which Malaga is situated.
With more than half a million inhabitants, Malaga is the 2nd largest city in Andalusia as well as the economic and cultural center of the Costa del Sol. The city is on the Mediterranean Coast and enjoys a very mild climate with almost 300 days of sunshine a year.
Here you will find the typical images that most people associate with Spain: Flamenco, the white-washed villages, Moorish palaces, blue skies, splashes of colorful bougainvillea, bull fights, historic city centers, sun-drenches beaches and, of course, the passion which the Andalusian people dedicate to enjoying life!
The busy life of a major port, the famously warm, friendly and helpful nature of the people makes Malaga an experience. The historic city center with its winding streets, hundreds of tapas bars and welcoming restaurants retains a totally Spanish atmosphere. The Cathedral and Arab castle complement the rich architectural heritage.
As befits Picasso´s birthplace there are more than enough galleries, theaters, cinemas and music venues for the artistically inclines, including the Picasso Gallery in the midst of the historic center.
In addition, Malaga with the major international airport of the south of Spain, is the focal point of Andalusia’s modern motorway network making it ideal for visiting Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Ronda and even to spend weekends in Morocco.
All of these places are within a couple of hours´ travel and feature regularly in Malaca Instituto’s activities program.
