Welcome to the Language Teaching Centre

The Language Teaching Centre (LTC) founded in 1996, is an international language school in Cape Town, South Africa. The language centre offers English and internationally recognised, foreign language training and certification in a warm friendly setting.

The Language Teaching Centre (LTC) runs courses in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Swahili, Mandarin, Russian and South African languages (Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu).

All our teachers are highly qualified, native speakers of the languages they teach. They have extensive experience in teaching students of many different nationalities.

Because we are familiar with the challenges of acquiring a new language, LTC makes every effort to welcome students to an environment that will nurture their learning process and draw their best efforts.

Cultural Orientation

The Language Teaching Centre not only focuses on language training, but also introduces students to the respective cultures of the languages they are taught.

Many of our students are preparing for life in a foreign country and we feel it is vital to help them adjust to the customs of these new challenges. LTC school strives to create a relaxed , friendly and comfortable learning environment for all our students. Our classrooms are in the city centre on the 9th Floor, from where students can enjoy the magnificent view of Table Mountain.

LTC is based in the city centre and easily accessible from all areas of Cape Town. The school is close to all major travel routes, hotels and the International Convention Center.

What is the best time to come to Cape Town?

Cape Town is exciting any time of the year. In summer you can enjoy the hot weather, whilst in spring there are lots of wild flowers and the whales come to Cape Town. The weather is also beautiful at this time but you might have cold nights. Come in autumn, when it is starting to get cold, there will still be lots of excitement. Winter is when you can enjoy the restaurants, Table Mountain, and a lot more.

How is the Weather in General?

Temperatures differ according to the seasons, but they can go up to 35 degrees in summer and as low as 8 degrees in cold winter. However, we have the wind (South Easterly) which we call the Cape Doctor; this blows very hard sometimes.

How big is the school?

The school has 7 big classrooms and students can relax at break time or lunch in the school, which is very spacious. Our classes also have beautiful views of Table Mountain and the city.

Is it multi-cultural?

Our students come from all over the globe; from Europe, East Africa, Russia, Japan, Angola, Mozambique and South Africa too. Our students range from the age of 17 to 50+ years; however we can also accommodate kids if they come on a special program.

Accommodation in Cape Town

To find a home away from home LTC offers a complete accommodation booking service that includes:

• Homestay incl. breakfast & dinner*:  (private room/shared bathroom)
• Homestay incl. breakfast & dinner*:  (private room/private bathroom), bookable at an extra cost of 100 Euro per week
• Guest houses**: (private room/shared bathroom)

Accommodation is at students’ disposal from the Sunday before beginning of course until the Saturday morning following end of course.
