Established in Glasgow in 2002, Live Language has grown to become Scotland’s leading private independent language school.

Live Language is a small, friendly language school in Glasgow. Our focus is on adapting quickly to individual student needs and styles of learning.

At Live Language School Glasgow, we keep classes small so teacher-student contact is maximised. Our lessons are designed to be communicative and interactive so your confidence in using the language in real situations grows. At our Language School in Glasgow we don’t believe in lecture style lessons.

The students benefit from lots of free services in the school in addition to the social programme, we also have a Language Exchange with local people, a voluntary work placement service, university admissions service, monthly Student Rep meetings and guest speakers once a month – all to ensure the students are involved in their local community while using their target language.

Our Staff

All our teachers are qualified, experienced native speakers and have a minimum of either a CELTA (Certificate of Language English Teaching to Adults) or a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification.

Most of them also have at least one degree from a UK university and have been selected for their love of teaching and commitment to professional development.

General English Course

Our General English courses are designed to provide you with the skills and language knowledge you need to be able to use English in a variety of situations.

Whether you want to travel, work, live or even study in an English-speaking environment, the courses help you to develop the knowledge you need to use the language effectively.

Our classes are small to ensure that you get the highest level of attention from your teachers. The classes integrate grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation with speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Our experienced, native-speaking teachers use a communicative methodology, which gives you the maximum amount of time to practise your English.

Timetable: Monday to Friday mornings 9.00am – 12.15pm OR Afternoons 2.45pm – 6.00pm

Accommodation

Homestay*

Live Language can arrange accommodation throughout the year for students aged 16 or over. Live Language offer homestay to students all year round, or residence accommodation in the Summer.

Our homestay accommodation allows students to live with a host and their family while they study English. It is a great way to improve your English and also learn about Scottish culture.

All our hosts live around Glasgow, within 1 hour travel time to the school. Live Language staff arrange all of our homestay accommodation, and this means our staff get to know our students prior to their arrival and are able to offer assistance throughout their stay.

It is important to us and our students that we match students needs with Homestay families. All our host providers are inspected regularly. Click the link to the right for more information.

Residence accommodation**

Live Language also arrange residence accommodation in the Summer for our students.

The residence accommodation is situated in the city centre, a short distance from our school. Students stay in an apartment with other students, and share a kitchen and living space.
