About Clubclass:

Malta has rapidly acquired a reputation for excellence in teaching English as a foreign language. Clubclass has helped form this coveted status by providing a highly immersive educational system that gives rapid and lasting results – the residential language school.

Malta was a British colony for over 150 years. Since independence from British rule, daily use of the English language has never subsided and the Islands are officially bi-lingual. Business, scientific, educational and other circles use English as the predominant language. English is also spoken exclusively in a number of social circles.  When enrolled in an English language course in Malta, students are able to communicate with all locals and in all situations, encouraging daily and practical use of the language.

The School:

Clubclass is a modern, average-sized English language school in Malta finished to the highest specifications.  The school and residence are centrally located within walking distance to the sandy beach of St. George’s Bay, Paceville and St. Julian’s.  Across the road from the school there is a bus stop with links to Sliema and Valletta.

Prices / Courses and Accommodation

• General English Language Course, 20 or 30 lessons per week (45 minutes per lesson), 12 student max. per group

Prices includes course and accommodation as indicated, all registration and accommodation fees, course materials, level assessment upon arrival, internet access, certificate upon completion of course.

Course supplements:

• Add € 40 per week during the high season (10/06 – 25/08) on all courses
• Add € 50 per week during the high season (10/06 – 25/08) on homestay accommodation
• Add € 80 per week during the high season (10/06 – 25/08) on apartment and shared accommodation
• Add € 30 for a round-trip airport transfer

Leisure & Activities

There is a lot for students to see and do in Malta during their free time and this of course depends on the individuals’ interests. Clubclass offers a weekly leisure programme organized specifically for language students visiting the Maltese Islands; this includes a variety of guided tours, sporting facilities and other activities which could be booked at an extra charge.

Malta’s history boasts of an array of archaeological sites, fortified cities, megalithic temples, monuments and other places of interest.  If travelling in the summer months, a dip in our crystal clear waters is a must! One can find beautiful sandy and rocky beaches both in the south and in the north of Malta.   St. George’s Bay, St. Julian’s is situated within walking distance from the school.

Paceville - Malta’s main entertainment hub is only a 15 minute walk away from the school.  Here one can find a wide range of recreational facilities including cinemas, a bowling alley, restaurants, bars and discotheques.  Valletta - the capital city and Sliema are Malta’s major shopping sites and can be easily reached by taking a bus from the bus stop opposite the school.

The courses:

Clubclass courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching established by the Council of Europe. Courses are offered at six levels that range from beginner to advanced, with each level in between offering incremental language development.

All courses at Clubclass have been designed to engage, stimulate and motivate students. This combination of factors has been shown to deliver the most rapid results for communication and practical usage. Lessons are delivered by highly experienced and professional teaching staff using the latest educational materials.

The appropriate level of language-learning is established during the first session by means of a placement test. This determines language ability in four areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Regular monitoring is also carried out to assess progress.

The Director of Studies is always available to offer support and advice about any academic issues. On completion of their course students receive a certificate that confirms attendance and level attained.

General English – Standard [GES]

• 20 lessons / 15 hours per week
• average 8 students per class (maximum 12)
• minimum course duration 1 week

General English – Intensive [GEI]

• 30 lessons / 22½ hours per week
• average 8 students per class (maximum 12)
• minimum course duration 1 week

General English – Standard Mini Group [GESM]

• 20 lessons / 15 hours per week
• average 4 students per class (maximum 6)
• minimum course duration 1 week

Course characteristics:

• Minimum age: 17
• Levels: complete beginners, elementary (A1 level*), intermediate 1(A2 level*), intermediate 2 (B1 level*), advanced (B2 level*),proficiency (C1 & C2 level*) in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages

Accommodation in Malta

The one bed roomed and shared apartments are situated in the residence, within the same building as the school.

Shared Bedroom [TWOSHR]

• Students will share a triple bedroom in a two bedroomed apartment with one air-conditioned / heated bedroom [restricted hours]
• The apartment includes a bathroom, a kitchen, a TV and a telephone
• Weekly cleaning and change of bed linen and towels are also included
• The apartments are situated within the same building as the school

Hostel [HOSSHR]

• Students will share a triple bedroom in a hostel with one air-conditioned / heated bedroom [at a charge]
• The room includes a bathroom, a TV and a telephone
• Kitchen is shared between students
• Weekly cleaning and change of bed linen and towels are also included
• Hostel is situated across the road from the school

Student House [HSESHR]

• Students will share a triple bedroom with a fan
• Each house consists of ten shared bedrooms with five shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen
• Weekly cleaning and change of bed linen and towels are also included
• Hostel is situated across the road from the school
