School Facilities

Deflin English School’s main building is based in a lovely Georgian building with large, bright and modern classrooms. It is only three minutes walk from O’Connell Street, Dublin’s main street. The building, dating back to the 1750’s, includes bright fully-equipped modern classrooms, library, student canteen, recreation room with free computers and Wifi.

Our spacious student recreation area offers a great place to meet students from other classes or just relax after your English classes over tea & coffee. With a pool table, foosball table, computers and Wifi there is excellent facilities to enjoy time with your friends.

The student library offers a comfortable quiet place where you can study both online and with audio aids or borrow books. There is an extensive range of both text books and fiction, many of which are adapted especially to different levels of fluency.

General English Courses in Dublin, Ireland

The General English Courses have a strong emphasis on conversation although the competencies of reading, writing and listening are also practiced.  The curriculum for all courses is well-planned and the emphasis is on making the classes as interesting as possible while improving your level of English as rapidly as possible.

The Delfin English School offers many General English Language Courses ranging from 15 to 30 hours per week and is available for levels beginner to advanced.

General English Plus Course:

The General English Plus course is structured to provide systematic practice and improvement in the core language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.  It is open to students from beginner to advanced level and focuses on a communicative approach to learning.  The classes are fluency based, improving the communications skills of each student.  This includes an additional hour of conversation only lessons each day.

• 20 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 9:45am–2:20pm

Intensive English Course:

Including all the elements of General English, this more intensive course complements the work of morning classes and works to develop communication skills at an accelerated rate and to improve your competence in using English in everyday situations.

Our excellent teachers, modern teaching methods and use of supplementary materials ensures you maximize the benefits of the time you spend with us.

Accommodation in Dublin

Homestay with a Local Family*

Homestays are an excellent way to practice your English with native speakers is to stay with a host family. All the host families we use are carefully chosen to provide you with a friendly welcoming comfortable place to stay.

Host family accommodation is half-board, offering breakfast and an evening meal every day.

All host families are located near to a city bus route, each of which arrives at the city’s main square only a couple of minutes from the school.

Student Residence**

Providing students with the freedom to cater for themselves, all the residence is conveniently located and comfortably furnished and equipped to meet students’ needs.

Each student will share a 4 room apartment within the residence. This comprises of 4 bedrooms all containing their own bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge area where you can relax together.

The accommodation is within walking distance to the school and is approximately 15 minutes away.

All bills except washing facilities (3 € per wash &  2 € for the dryer) included in the price.
