Cork English World, established in 2011, is located in Cork’s city centre.  It is dedicated to the teaching of General & Business English, international Teacher Training and corporate Foreign Language training. This centre is located in one of Cork’s most historic buildings directly opposite the famous St. Finbarre’s Cathedral.

With combined experience of over 30 years in the ELT sector, directors Majellia and Mireille can guarantee the most effective and enjoyable English Language Learning experience.

Accommodation in Cork:

The Host Family*

Irish Host Families have a tradition of hospitality and warmth. This tradition is renowned the world over and has been a major factor in attracting thousands of students to Ireland for many years. The Host Family is a vital component of a student’s learning experience in Ireland, both educationally and culturally and lends itself to a well-balanced encounter with Irish Life. The Host Families are situated all over Cork City, and can cater for the many and varied requests, from smoking to special dietary needs. For our English Schools in Cork.

Some Host Families host students exclusively for Cork English World. The host family will provide the student with Cork airport transfers, breakfast (continental) and an evening meal. Please be prepared for some surprises with regard to Irish food; it may not be what you are accustomed to, but is sure to nourish!

Apartment Accommodation**

Apartment Accommodation is available throughout the summer in various complexes centrally located and we can arrange this for you. Apartment accommodation usually involves sharing an apartment with, at least, three other students, where there is a communal living/ dining area and shared bathroom. In apartment accommodation you provide your own food. Bed Linen and towels are provided, though we do suggest that you bring some extra for your own comfort.

Social Life:

Once you step outside the door of Cork English World, you are in the heart of Cork city. Cork is a young, vibrant city with plenty of socializing to do after your classes! With our city center location, you will soon know all about the best restaurants, best shops and best pubs.

During the high season we organize afternoon, evening and weekend activities for their General & Business English students.

These activities include, for example:

• Walking tours of Cork
• Visits to Blarney Castle, Cobh Heritage Center and Cork City Gaol
• Irish music and dancing evenings
• Cinema, theater, pub nights, dog racing and bowling
• At the weekend they organize full day excursions to Kenmare & Killarney, the Beara Peninsula and West Cork.

Our Staff:

All of our trainers for our English class in Cork meet the following requirements:

• University Graduates
• TEFL qualification: DELTA or CELTA or CELT TEFL
• Minimum 2 years experience of teaching international classes
• In-service Training & Professional Development

Levels: elementary (A1 level*), intermediate 1 (A2 level*), intermediate 2 (B1 level*), advanced (B2 level*), proficiency (C1 & C2 level*) in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages
