The school, founded in 1958, offers various types of quality German courses for academic, personal or professional purposes all year round. 
Ih Heidelberg – Collegium Palatinum is a member of International House World Organisation (IHWO), and is committed to high standards of quality in language education, and professional teacher development.
Besides our standard language courses we also offer study or job-specific programs.
Participants can choose to either join an international group of students or learn German in individual sessions.
Our language training strictly follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching. The school is an authorized test center for telc Language Tests and the TestDaF and provides preparation courses for these exams.
The cultural diversity of our participants from all over the world creates an atmosphere in which language learning is enjoyable and satisfying.
The ih Heidelberg language programs are combined with culture and leisure activities. The school offers accommodation in guest families or in student residence.

The German Course in Heidelberg Consists of:
- General German Course in Heidelberg: 20 lessons of 45 minutes

Intensive German Course in Heidelberg: 30 lessons of 45 minutes
- Up to a maximum of 12 students per class (Average: 7 students)

Methodology
IH Heidelberg –instructors follow a practical approach by applying, interactive and communicative teaching methods. The qualified teachers with academic degrees in language teaching undergo continuous professional development. Most of them have long-term experience in multi-cultural classes.

Accommodation
We offer housing in guest-families or student residence.
With guest-families in single room, breakfast (155 €/week) or half-board (235 €/week):
Take part in the everyday life of our carefully selected guest-families. You will be able to immerse yourselves in the life and culture, and at the same time consolidate your language skills.
In student residence, double (115 €/week) or single room (140 €/week), shared kitchen and bathrooms, self-catering; WiFi.
Living at student dorms with participants from all over the world is convenient, and fun.
Social and Cultural Activities
IH Heidelberg offer various culture and leisure activities at least 2 times a week: an orientation tour for the newcomers on Mondays encourages students to get to know each other as well as the city.
Guided tours through the Old City of Heidelberg, the Heidelberg castle and the local museums are part of the standard program.
Apart from that we organize daytrips to different German cities, for example: Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Speyer, and Stuttgart.
Our activities include: cycling/canoeing/hiking tours, vine tasting, visit to a beer brewery, visit to the Max-Planck-Institute, movie nights or international food parties at school, etc. Participation is free, except transportation cost and entrance fees.
