Le Franc Parler is a small French language school which was created by Pascale Martorello after she had taught for several years in France, Japan, Germany and the United States. Le Franc Parler guarantees:

groups limited to 6 students per level, careful attention paid to the particular linguistic needs of each student and also to his or her individual stay, a friendly atmosphere, such a special place to learn French in France that it will always be remembered.

The running of the school as well as a large part of the teaching is assured by Pascale Martorello, French teacher with a Masters Degree in Advanced Studies in Literature and the French Language and a Master’s Degree in FLE from the Universities of Aix-en-Provence and Montpellier.

Cahors, France

Cahors, capital of the Department of the Lot, is a town with 25,000 inhabitants, situated on a semi-island formed by a loop in the River Lot.  Of Gallo-Roman origin, the town experienced remarkable growth in the Middle Ages which resulted in the mediaeval and Renaissance architecture which today gives its remarkable character and beauty.  Mediaeval alleyways, Renaissance windows, the domed Cathedral, the famous Pont Valentré have recently earned the town the title of a Great Tourist Site in the Midi-Pyrenees…

Here you will leave your car and explore on foot to enjoy the charm of the town’s ancient streets, small squares, and « jardins secrets ».

The premises

The school is located in the oldest building in the town which dates from the XIII century. It is light, and on one side opens onto the cobbled pedestrian quarter which is at the heart of mediaeval Cahors, and on the other, onto a park which is one of Cahors’ “Jardins Secrets”, where we can take our coffee breaks.

Facilities

To facilitate your studies, there is a multimedia library available to you without charge, where you will find magazines, easy French books, literary works, vocabulary and grammar exercises etc.

Also available are cassettes or CDs to improve your oral comprehension and pronunciation, dvds, including a wide selection of films or documentaries about France and computers to access your emails or the Internet

French Courses in the South of France

At Le Franc Parler, we offer one week of intensive lessons comprised of: 20 lessons from Monday to Friday from 9am to 12:30pm + a tour of the old town on Monday afternoon  + an introduction to Cahors wines and a wine tasting.

Lunch time meals are taken with the teacher on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

One week : 20 French lessons in small groups + about 10  hours of informal discussion in French

• 6 different levels, from elementary to advanced A1 to C2
