About French in Normandy – Rouen 
Since 1992, French in Normandy has offered a winning combination to those wishing to learn French or to improve their language skills.

We provide first rate teaching in a warm and friendly study environment and an exciting social and cultural program in the beautiful and historic region of Normandy.
All our trainers are highly qualified and have many years experience teaching students from all over the world. They are here to help all our students get the maximum from their stay.
The school is in an independent building with its own car park and courtyard. With 12 classrooms, we can accommodate both our groups (maximum 10 students) as well as one-to-one lessons.

Our resource centre has 10 new computers with free internet access. WiFi access is also available for those wishing to use their personal laptops.
We have a small library and audio visual material including CDs and DVDs available for students.

Activities, social and cultural program
French In Normandy organizes a weekly social activity program. We organize guided visits to local sites of interests, companies, institutions, cinemas, theatres as well as local producers of regional specialties.
Typical half day and evening activities (cost not included in the course fee) are:
- Visit to Rouen’s museums
- Visits to local radio and TV stations
- Visits to local institutions such as local government authorities
- Visits to Rouen’s horticultural gardens and other sights
- Sporting activities such as swimming or skating
- Theatre and cinema evenings
- Restaurant evenings.
Typical full day Saturday activities (cost NOT included in the course fee) are outings to:
- Paris
- Mont Saint Michel
- Monet’s garden at Giverney
- Normandy Landing Beaches and many more.
General French Courses
There are groups at 6 different levels from beginners to advanced students and courses start every Monday. On the first day there is an evaluation and needs analysis session in the morning and on the first afternoon we offer a free orientation session for new students, introducing them to the city of Rouen.
Classes are based on communicative French and structural progression in mornings. Class times are 9.30am to 1.00pm, including a 30 minute recess from 11h-11h30.
While in the afternoons between 2.00pm to 4.00pm, the lessons are organized in a series of workshops:
- Monday: Vocabulary and reading
- Tuesday: Written comprehension and writing skills
- Wednesday: Listening skills and French life and culture
- Thursday: DELF DALF preparation
- Friday: Speaking
The maximum number of students in each group is 10.
Extra Intensive DELF/DALF Preparation Course – French in Normandy: Rouen, France
French in Normandy can also organize additional individual lessons for students at any time. These are tailor-made to suit your specific needs. Just ask us for details.
This format gives each student flexibility in the number of hours per week: 15 hours to 25 hours.
Host Family*
We can arrange several types of accommodation, including hotels, student residences and apartments, but we strongly recommend home-stay, especially for the first part of your stay.
Our selected home-stay families understand the importance of their role in making your visit both successful and enjoyable. They will not only introduce to you to the French way of life and help you to practice the language but will also give you a taste of our local and delicious regional specialties.
For students preferring to stay in student residence accommodation there are three possibilities in Rouen: a brand new residence near the school offers a superior standard and services including weekday breakfast while the others are in the centre of town and offer comfortable accommodation with private bathroom facilities.
We can also arrange furnished apartments for those wishing a different self-catering option.

The host families provide:
- Bath towels and bedding.
- Breakfast and dinner during the week and full board at the weekend
- A single room
- In most cases families will give students a key during their stay. We can also organise a wide range of hotels and studios. Information is on request.

Hôtel Residence
- This is a 2* IBIS-style hotel.
- 15/20 minutes from our centre. Metro stop 2 minutes on foot.
- Single room from 650 Euros per month including weekday breakfast or 45 € per night for a shorter stay.
