The English Course in Victoria Consists of:

  • General English Course in Victoria: 20 lessons of 50 minutes
  • Intensive English Course in Victoria: 28 lessons of 50 minutes
  • Up to a maximum of 15 students per class (Average: 12 students)
  • Students with some level of English will be able to start any Monday

Our school location

Our Victoria school is situated on Douglas Street, close to tourist attractions such as the Legislative buildings, the Butchart Gardens and the Inner Harbor.

You’ll be just steps away from Victoria’s main shopping district, with excellent restaurants, public transport and entertainment all within easy reach.

And if you prefer to leave town for a while, you’ll find marvelous countryside all around, with the West Coast Trail and excellent ski resorts nearby, and a hikers’ paradise practically on the doorstep.

Course information and details

The Certificate of English is our most popular course; promising all-round improvement in every area of general English.

It’s available in every Embassy school worldwide.

You can join on any Monday and following our entrance test, you’ll be placed into a class with other students at your level.

Study for as long or as short as you like, from two weeks upwards. Classes can be in the morning and/or afternoon.

Students can choose from our standard version of 20 lessons per week or an intensive version of 28 lessons per week.

The intensive course includes 20 lessons on General English plus 8 electives of your choice.

Accommodation

Homestay*

Live as part of an English-speaking household.

You’ll have your own bedroom, and eat breakfast and evening meals with your hosts.

It’s a great chance to meet native Canadians and share their way of life.

Living with English-speakers also means that you will never stop learning and improving your fluency.

At Embassy Victoria, our Homestay households are all within 40 minutes’ travel of the school, and most are nearer.
